Serving inpatients, emergency room patients and outpatients of Trumbull Memorial Hospital, the Department of Pathology is conveniently located on the first floor of TMH and is a member of ValleyCare Lab Services. This department provides laboratory testing to patients as ordered by their physician. Dedicated to fulfilling the medical laboratory needs of the community, the Department of Pathology offers:

• Testing services for diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations
• Diagnostic testing for Oncology Services at TMH

The department is directed by board certified pathologists and staffed by degreed, registered testing professionals. Areas of expertise include Blood Bank Transfusion Medicine, Clinical Chemistry and Immunology, Hematology, Coagulation and urine & fluid analysis, Clinical Microbiology and Anatomical Pathology. Our team of trained staff utilizes specialized medical equipment in the testing of patient specimens, including advanced computerization and robotics.

All lab results are conveniently available by electronic transmission and can be retrieved for any test information collected or performed at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Northside Medical Center and ValleyCare Lab Services.

The laboratory meets all guidelines under the Clinical Laboratories Improvement Act of 1988 and is accredited by the College of American Pathologists. In addition to these requirements, the lab also participates in proficiency evaluation programs.
