Trumbull Memorial Hospital Hires New CEO and COO
Key Leadership in Place to Propel Trumbull Forward
Warren, OH (May 6, 2013) – ValleyCare Health System of Ohio has announced that John Walsh accepted the position of chief executive officer at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. In addition, Jay de los Reyes began as chief operating officer on April 1.
“These two individuals bring strong leadership to Trumbull Memorial Hospital,” said Kirk Ray, CEO of ValleyCare Health System of Ohio. “John and Jay come with new energy and perspective that I believe will help solidify a positive culture for the hospital both internally and in the community.”
John Walsh was named interim chief executive officer in March. Prior to serving as interim CEO, Walsh was serving as the chief operating officer at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Walsh was also the CEO for Regency Hospital Company’s Long Term Care Hospital in Toledo, Ohio for four years and vice president of operations for Northlake Medical Center, based in Atlanta, Ga., from 2001 to 2006.
Walsh obtained his MBA from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga., and he received his bachelor’s in respiratory therapy in from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Ga. He is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on numerous boards.
de los Reyes has worked the last two years as the chief operating officer at HealthSouth Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital. Before joining HealthSouth, he lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he managed the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery practices at the Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute, multi-specialty, cardiovascular group practice of more than 110 physicians, owned by the Carolinas Healthcare System. de los Reyes earned a master's degree in health administration and business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has a bachelor's of business administration from Birmingham-Southern College.
